Giclée print on Hahnemühle archival photorag paper (46x34cm)

2013

A photograph of a smoke ring suspended in the corner of a room.  A response to Strindberg’s account (1917) in Walter Benjamin’s The Arcades Project where he describes wandering through the deserted 'moribund arcades' and eventually enters a shop, which again appears devoid of any human presence apart from a single ring of cigar smoke 'hanging in the air'.  [H1a,3] [The Collector]
